February 17, 2004 - GOODBYE FOR NOW
As some may have noticed, nothing much has happened on The Portrait Portal as of late. Due to forementioned lack of time, I've finally decided to discontinue work on the site -, though not without half a bleeding heart. I have enjoyed the process of making the portraits. But even more so, I have enjoyed all the letters you've sent. I want to thank those who took interest in my work, and say I'm sorry to those, who didn't get a deserved reply.

The site will stay up though. And even as I say goodbye, it will, hopefully, not be for good. I still hope that at some point I will be able to pick up where I let go. For now, goodbye, and I hope to see you all later...

November 21, 2003 - OUT OF THE LOOP FOR A WHILE
Sadly time does not always allow us to do the things you want to do, and sometimes when you have the time, you don't always feel inspired to do the things you should have done. In other words, I've been out of the loop for a while due to both lack of time and inspiration.

But for now it's seems that I'm up and running with a few new portraits, done in a bit different style than I usually do. I felt kinda confined by only working with the material from the original Baldur's Gate II. So I searched the internet for both armor, swords and backgrounds. the result is what you see to the right.

July 12, 2003 - I USED TO BE AN IDEALIST
Hi guys and girls. Normally, as the headline suggests, I really used to be an idealist. But now, given the circumstances, I have been forced to look at things realistically. I love the enthusiasm you guys show for the portraits, and I'm happy with all the requests. But I'm afraid that time will not allow me to make all your wishes come true. So I've had to make a choice: I'd either have to stop making portraits completely (which I definately don't want to do), or take steps to prevent the "rush hour" a little :) So what I've decided to do is to begin by being a bit harsher on the personal request, by dropping the pictures that are not of excellent quality (sorry). So before sending me personal requests. Please consider the quality of your picture, and be prepared for the fact that I might turn your offer down. Other than that, I'd like to thank you all for the support you've given me, and if there's anyone out there that might be able to give me a hand. Please contact me. Cause that could help to clear up this traffic a bit too...thanks :)

May 12, 2003 - FINALLY...I'M DONE
Doing a haul-over of the site perhaps wasn't the best idea?!? How long have we been down... three weeks? Anyways I just hope that you're satified with the result. Enjoy...

April 24, 2003 - QUICK OR SLOW?
One more thing needs mentioning. If you have a fast connecting, you can download the pictures by clicking on the portraits. What will happen is, that a bigger picture will appear with links to the portrait files.

If on the other hand you have a slow connection, you should probably go directly to the download page (click on the small disc icon above). What you will find here is text links to the portrait files. A much quicker solution :)
